As part of its commitment to the youth of Glenview, the Optimist Club of Glenview sponsors various activities to increase the awareness of the dangers of drug and alcohol abuse.

The members of the Student 2 Student Club at Glenbrook South High School pledge to remain drug and alcohol free throughout the school year, and work on programs for their peers and elementary school students. The Optimist Club of Glenview sponsors Student 2 Student, and awards a scholarship to a graduating senior member of the club each year.

Three levels of community drug awareness programs help children from the elementary level all the way thru high school. The "Snowball", "Snowflake", and "Snowflurry" programs, stresses the benefits of positive peer reinforcement to "just say no".
